Rolex Daytona Watches With Mother-Of-Pearl Dials
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, affectionately known as the Rolex Daytona, is now graced with two new exquisite versions featuring inverted mother-of-pearl dials and diamond-set bezels. Exploring previous Daytona models with a similar configuration can be an enjoyable pursuit, even if you're just spending imaginary dollars. Despite its seemingly straightforward design, it's delightful to witness replica Rolex continuing to introduce these subtly extravagant variations to its iconic racing chronograph.
Gone is the traditional tachymeter scale, replaced instead by a striking display of 36 brilliant-cut diamonds. Each diamond is meticulously selected and set by Rolex's in-house gemologists and gem-setters into an 18k white gold bezel. The case also boasts 18k white gold construction. However, it's worth noting that last year witnessed the Oystersteel Daytona adopting the beefier lugs and flatter lug undersides characteristic of the precious metal-cased versions.
The dials of these new models are crafted from delicate mother-of-pearl, thinly layered on a brass base. With limited space between the top plate of the movement, the hands, and the sapphire crystal covering them, precision is paramount. In reference 126589RBR-0001, a white mother-of-pearl dial is paired with black mother-of-pearl subdials, while reference 126579RBR-0001 reverses this, featuring a black mother-of-pearl main dial with white mother-of-pearl subdials. Both versions are adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds set into 18k white gold frames. Unfortunately, the days of Tahitian mother-of-pearl dials offered on the more accessible Rolesor (two-tone steel-gold) versions of the Daytona seem to be behind us.
Rolex has quietly introduced two even more extravagant Daytona watches at Watches & Wonders 2024. Enter the Rolex Daytona 116528, crafted in 18k yellow gold and adorned with an Oysterflex elastomer bracelet, and the Rolex Daytona 126595TBR-0001, presented in 18k Everose gold with an accompanying 18k Everose gold Oyster bracelet. Both models boast lavish decorations, including 36 trapeze-cut diamonds adorning their gold bezels, with an additional 9 brilliant-cut diamonds set into each lug.
